Born right here on the trails of Margaret River.

Elsewhere Retreats was founded by Margaret River locals who have spent years falling in love with this place. We know the karri forest at dawn, the crisp scent of eucalyptus on a cold morning, the mist that settles over the river before the world wakes. We know it not as visitors, but as people fortunate enough to call this region home, and we know the quietly powerful effect of time spent on our local trails. That is why we wanted to share it.

Ness is, at heart, a runner and someone who loves bringing people together. She has long believed in the restorative power of time in nature, and recognised how much more of it we all need. Her wish was simple: to see people running for joy again, finding real connection with one another, with Country, and with the landscapes she feels so fortunate to enjoy.

Sandra, who originally hails from Provence, brings the gift of the born hostess. Warm and bubbly, she is also the powerhouse behind the scenes, running the marketing and the countless details that happen long before a guest ever arrives, so that once they do, everything feels effortless.

Leading the way on the trails is Chris, our Lead Trail Guide, an avid and highly experienced runner who knows these paths intimately, and brings a genuine love of running that guests feel from the very first kilometre.

None of this would be possible alone. We are fortunate to work alongside a wonderful community of Margaret River artisans, facilitators and allied health professionals, and we are genuinely grateful for their part in bringing something this special to life for our guests.

Everything is taken care of, including you.

With warmth, and an invitation to the trail…

We respectfully acknowledge the Wadandi people, the traditional custodians of the land on which we run, gather and call home. We pay our respects to their elders past and present, and recognise their continuing connection to this Country, its trails, its forests and its coastline, a connection that long precedes our own and that we are deeply grateful to share in.
